RAPID DIGITAL RADIOGRAPHY
The clinic is equipped with state of the art technology and software such as digital x-ray with di-com modality (standards used in human hospitals). This means x-ray pictures are obtained within a few seconds and files can be transferred to specialists and other facilities world-wide. What this means to you, the pet owner, is no more lugging around bulky x-ray films. The images and the software to view it all fits on a computer laser disc or can be sent via email as a regular picture file.
ULTRA-HEALING LASER THERAPY
The pet hospital at NAVBR is one of a handful in Maryland that provides laser healing therapy technology. A low emission laser has been proven to stimulate skin and muscle tissue. Laser therapy assists in the healing of sutured areas after surgery and with regular sessions, aid in pain relief for joints and muscles due to arthritis or previous injuries. This same technology is being used in human hospitals today and studies have shown that cuts and wounds have healed quicker and scarring is reduced with the use of low emission lasers. Post operation laser therapy is an included service for many of the surgery packages offered by NAVBR. All precautions are taken to make every pets surgery as safe and minimally stressful as possible. From pre-surgery and sedation to re-animation and post operation, laser therapy is one of many tools that allow our patients access to the very best in Veterinary Hospital Medicine.
STATE OF THE ART SURGICAL SUITE AND IN-HOUSE LABORATORY
Experienced surgeons at NAVBR have access to the newest advancements in surgical instruments such as laser and radio surgery. Both options are used in place of the scalpel and the laser tip cauterizes as it cuts, reducing blood loss. A digital electronic ECG machine monitors the patients vitals. The ergonomic suite allows the surgeon access to all tools throughout the procedure. Working in conjunction with our in-house laboratory and digital x-ray our technicians and doctors have the capability to respond to emergency situations quickly even when surgery is needed. Our work stations, lab station, and digital x-ray computers are all connected to the internet for quick file transfers of lab results, images, and access to on-line technical support.

You may even opt to take a guided tour of the rest of the facility to prepare for your next boarding stay, grooming appointment, or enrollment into doggie daycare or obedience training. Whatever it may be, we strive to make your visit as convenient, relaxing, and sometimes as entertaining as possible. Most of the time, the pets take care of the entertainment.
