BOARDING

REQUIRED VACCINATIONS

Although we highly recommend that you keep your pet current on all it's vaccines, we only require proof of specific vaccinations as they relate to an environment that groups a large number of animals together.  Printed reminder notices, invoices, or patient records are accepted as proof of vaccinations.  We do not accept hand written information unless it is on the Veterinary Clinic's letter head or printed forms.  Vaccines that will expire within the boarding period must be updated before boarding.  Here are the following vaccines:

Dogs:          Bordetella, Distemper, and Rabies

Cats:          Feline Distemper and Rabies

Ferrets:       Rabies

Other (rodents, guinea pigs, or animals smaller than Ferrets)  NO VACCINES REQUIRED

DISCOUNT RULES AND COMPLIMENTARY SERVICES

There are several ways to obtain discounts and complimentary services during a boarding stay.  We do not offer military, senior, or special service discounts.  Our discounts and complimentary services are available to all boarding clients.

Coupons:

If you've obtained any of our valid printed coupons you simply present the coupon upon checking out.  No coupon can be used with another coupon or with any other printed offers.  Retail items can be added to the boarding bill, but only boarding related coupons will apply.

Complimentary Services:

We offer a complimentary bath for dogs boarding 5 nights (6 days) or longer.  The bath includes a double shampoo and blow drying.  A bandana is adorned by the pet as an indication that the service has been done.

Grooming:

Our groomers offer a 20% discount for pets that are boarding 5 nights (6 days) or longer.  All dogs that schedule a grooming during the boarding stay will recieve the discounted grooming in place of the complimentary bath unless the grooming appointment is only available on a day that preceeds the departing date.  In cases where the grooming date is the same day as the departing date, the 1/2 days charge for boarding is waived.  In cases of multiple pets all same rules apply to each individual pet.  For example:  Only one of the two pets' grooming date is the same as departing date.  Only the one pet's 1/2 day charge is waived.  The other is still charged.

Long Term:

Long Term boarding is defined as a pet staying 14 nights or longer.  All pets staying 14 nights to 27 nights qualify for a 10% discount off of the boarding invoice.  Pet's staying 28 nights or longer qualify for 20% off of boarding invoice.  Payments schedules are arranged for long term boarding and 2 weeks advance payment is required upon check in.

Shared Quarters:

Any 2 pets boarding in the same quarters automatically prompts a discount for the second pet.  The first pets rate is always the same as rates for individual pets.  In the event that pets have to be seperated, the 2nd pet's discount is voided from the date of the seperation (mostly due in part but not specific to pets not getting along).

Dogs/Kennel:                 2nd dog recieves $5.00 discount off of specified

kennel price determined by pets size. For

example a medium and a large pet in a large

kennel is 1 large rate and 1 medium rate with

                                   $5.00 off.

Dogs/Runs:                    2nd dog recieves $5.00 discount off of specified

kennel price determined by pet's size.  For example

a small dog and a large dog in a run.  The large dog

is the full run price and the small is the small

                                            kennel price with $5.00 off.

CATS:                           2nd cat recieves $1.00 off if sharing 1 condo

                                            unit.

FERRETS/MISC:               No shared quarters discount.

BOARDING DICTIONARY

There are many terms used to provide a general discription of what types of services we provide.  The following is a more detailed explanation of those terms (in no particular order)

Kennel   - Used to describe the type of boarding accomodations you

would typically see at home.  Although we group our kennels

as Small, Medium, and Large.  We only utilize Extra Large as

"Large" kennels and "Large" as "Medium".  There are no small

kennels just lower prices for smaller dogs.  During High Occu-

pancies, back up small kennels may be used for size

appropriate dogs.  Small and Medium kennels are placed

at floor level (bottom) or on top of Large kennels (top).  Large

kennels are all bottom kennels when occupied and are sometimes

stacked for storage when not in use.

Indoor/Outdoor Run - The indoor part of the run is climate

controlled. The outdoor part of the run is under roof.

Each run is seperated from other dogs both in the inside

and outside part of the run.  The pet door that allows the

dogs to go in and out is controlled by our kennel staff.

Cat Condo - A Cat Kennel Unit is seperated into 3 Cat Condos.  Each

Condo comes equiped with a filled litter pan, water bowl,

and bedding.  Purchasing 3 condo's in the same unit at full

boarding price is possible to allow a cat additional space to

      roam.

Playtime - A playtime consist of a technician and a pet.  The playtime

session lasts 15 minutes in a specified play area where the

technician and the pet do not come in contact with another

pet. Toys and Balls are used in the dog playtime sessions while

most cat playtimers prefer to just snoop around a secured room

or play on our cat tower.  No playtime is available for our other

               boarders (ferrets, guinea pigs...etc)

Walk-       A "walk" differs between Indoor/Outdoor Run dogs, Kennel

dogs, cats, and Ferrets/Others. A walk for dogs in an

indoor/outdoor run means they are let outside, the indoor

part of the run is cleaned, water is refreshed, bedding is

refreshed, and food is prepared.  The dog is let back in.

For dogs in kennels, they are physically leashed walked

designated runs which are outdoors and under roof.  The

kennel is cleaned, water and bedding is refreshed, and

food is prepared.  The dogs are physically leashed walk

back into their kennel.  Each dog is individually walked

and no dogs are allowed to come in contact with another

dog. A walk for cats simply means that thier condo is

cleaned, the water is refreshed, the litter is replenished,

the bedding is refreshed, and food is prepared.  Ferrets

and others are "walked" in the same fashion as cats.  The

difference thier bedding is refreshed as well (wood chips).

Frosty Paw-    A frozen pet treat that looks like an individual serving

of vanilla ice cream in a cup.

Play Yards- Sometimes also referred to "Daycare Yards".  These yards (if

empty) are sometimes used for playtimes. In addition there are two closed in corridors between buildings that are used for playtimes.

DAYCARE

REGISTRATION

Befor any pet can participate in our daycare program, they must be registered.  The registration includes the validation of vaccines, daycare contract, guided tour and disclosure of important information as it pertains to daycare patrons.  Daycare Supervisors will ensure that a new registrant understands fully what the daycare program is all about.  NO PET CAN INSTANTLY PARTICIPATE and become an occupant of a daycare yard without carefull and proper evaluation of both the new pet and the existing occupants of that yard.  Safety of the pet and staff members are top priority, therefor the introduction process takes a minimum of 10 days to observe and decide on an appropriate yard (17 yards to choose from, each yard with pets of like manner and disposition).

DISCOUNT RULES AND COMPLIMENTARY SERVICES

Daycare patrons have a couple options for discounts and complimentary services.

Tickets:

Tickets purchased individually are at the standard rate with a 30 day expiration.  Discounts are applied when booklets are purchased (total of 5 tickets with a 10 day expiration).  Even more discounts apply for 2 dogs or more for the same owner (booklet of 5 tickets per dog with a 10 day expiration).

Coupons:

If you've obtained any of our valid printed coupons you simply present the coupon upon purchase of tickets.  No coupon can be used with another coupon or with any other printed offers.  Retail items can be added to the daycare bill, but only daycare related coupons will apply.

Complimentary Services:

All daycare dogs are inspected befor departure to determine if they need a

quick wash and blow dry at no additional cost.  Dogs can enjoy breakfast,

lunch, or dinner prepared by thier owners.  Daycare will move feeding dogs

to an individual run for each meal and will allow at least 30 minutes of rest before rejoining a dog with thier playmates.  There is no charge unless kennel food is used.

DAYCARE DICTIONARY

There are many terms used to provide a general discription of what types of services we provide and what activities daycare pets engage in.  The following is a more detailed explanation of those terms (in no particular order)

Fence Playing-(More commonly referred to as Fence Fighting).  This is the most

engaged activity in daycare.  Dogs will run up and down alongside the fence as they chase and bark at thier neighbors.

Play Biting-More commonly associated with new puppies, but some older participants

still engage in the activity while playing.  This is the most misunderstood situation by inexperienced on-lookers.  It may appear that a fight is in session, but carefull observation will reveal if either pet engaged in this activity is fealing threatened or is becoming the aggressor.  Our daycare staff are trained to quickly respond to any rough playing and will seperate pets (like a type of "time out") until they have calmed down and are relaxed.

Fighting- This may be self explanitory.  Unfortunately, dogs are dogs and a fight may

ensue.  To minimize this, measures are taken as it relates to the particular yard.  For example: A certain toy may be the cause so it is not allowed in a particular yard, or a certain time of day is noticed so a pet or pets are seperated befor that time.

CLEANING

EQUIPMENT

Aside from your standard mops and sponges, Noah's Ark implements and utilizes commercial grade equipment to combat the spread of airborne and surface contact bacteria and viruses.  PLEASE NOTE THAT ANY AMOUNT OF CLEANING, DISINFECTING AND VACCINATING CANNOT GAURANTEE THAT PETS WILL NOT GET SICK OR CONTRACT A VIRUS PRIOR TO OR DURING BOARDING  (More information is available at www.petcareservices.org ).  We highly recommend researching canine cough (kennel cough) and the canine flu (h3n8) viruses.  NAVBR uses the same grade of disinfectant you will find in a Zoo or in a human hospital.

Some vital key components and equipment we have in-house:

High Pressure Washers

Commercial Linen Washers and Dryers

Ultraviolet Ducted Air Conditioning Sytem

Ultraviolet Air Purifier

Commercial Grade Air Ventilation and Circulation System

Heated Flooring

Portable Disinfectant Foamer (to cover large areas such as daycare yards)

Tiled Flooring (and walls in various areas)

Concrete Walls

Disinfectant Mixing and Dispensing system

Portable Air Circulation Units

REGIMENT

Pet quarters are cleaned and refreshed 3 times daily.  A pressure washer with injected disinfectant is primarely used for floors and concrete walls, indoor runs, outdoor runs, play time area and hallways.  A portable foamer and spray nozzle is primarely used for daycare yards, outdoor areas, outside runs, outdoor runs, paved areas, kennel floor trays and cat condos.  Disinfectant bucket and sponge commonly used for cleaning kennels and cat condos on a daily basis. Food and water bowls are set in bleach then washed with dishwashing liquid and scrub sponge.  High traffic floors and areas are constantly swept, vacuumed and mopped as needed.  Mopping solutions vary from water/vinegar mixture to dininfectants or bleach/water mixture depending on the type of cleaning and disinfecting needed.  Veterinary Hospital constantly cleaned in all areas and exam rooms are cleaned before and after each exam.  Closing procedure for the Veterinary staff includes a general cleaning of all areas and equipment used for the day.  Outside areas such as daycare yards and kennel grounds are checked and scooped throughout the day and a final inspection and scoop is done at days end.  Clean water bowls are issued for every check in and refreshed as needed throughout the day. For boarding all water bowls are changed each morning, 7 days a week including holidays.

MAINTENANCE/GROUNDSKEEPING/LANDSCAPING

Much of the work is done in-house with company supplied equipment and experienced maintenance staff.  A maintenance log sheet is utilized for the reporting of repairs needed for quick response time.  A maintenance checklist ensures that crucial preventive maintenance is done on all equipment in all departments in a timely manner. Some of these items on the list will give you a general idea of the detailed maintenance schedule:

CLEAN, MAINTAIN, ANALYZE COMPUTER WORK STATIONS (total of 12) every 3rd week

CHECK, CLEAN, REPLACE AIRCONDITIONING "LIFETIME" FILTERS AS NEEDED

OIL CHANGE AND SERVICE PRESSURE WASHERS EVERY 3000 HOURS

SERVICE AND OIL CHANGE DENTAL COMPRESSOR EVERY SIX MONTHS AS NEEDED.

CHECK DRAIN FLOW ON ALL TUBS AND CLEAR BLOCKAGE AS NEEDED

CHECK, CLEAN AND/OR REPLACE WATER FILTERS AS NEEDED (coffee machine, refridgerators, pressure washers)

"Dear Ginny,
My dogs, Shorty and FiFi, are part of my family and my heart...I believe that they make my life fuller and help me to become a more compassionate person...My unspoken promise to them is to care for them in the most loving fashion possible...When I leave them at Noah's Ark Daycare, I know that they are safe and loved. The trust that the daycare staff has earned is priceless."

Linda Jones, Shorty, & FiFi

"Dear Mr. Boback,
Right before Christmas, I received an envelope from one of you employees. Imagine my delight in finding a gift...and a wonderful letter from you. First I would like to express my deepest appreciation for this gift. I know some believe that doggie daycare is an extravagence, however for me it is necessary. Second I would like to thank you for you wonderful staff. Ginny is a treasure! ALL of the daycare staff are caring and professional. They treat the pet owners with great respect and our pets with such kindness and tender loving care. Even when the animals act out, I've been impressed by the staff's responses and actions. Noah's Ark is a Gem! I thank God for finding you, just when I needed it most.

Thank you again,
Meribeth Allman
